Mt. Shasta from the 'back' side. Still has a great deal of snow on it for mid-October. This is taken from the road between Weed and Klamath Falls. It was lightly overcast.
Crater Lake, this is Wizard Island, it is 760 feet above the water. It also has a 90 foot crater at the top. The water is an incredible deep, rich blue. The sides are very steep, there are no roads inside and only one pathway down to the water.
Lori is standing on the southern rim near Crater Lake Lodge. The sides are very steep, you cannot appreciate it in this picture, but if you look at the others you can see the grade. One careless step and you would slide, bounce hundreds of feet down to the water.
Nice couple of youngsters after enjoying lunch at the Lodge. That is quite a wide caldera behind us. Wonderful deep blue color.
This is the Phantom Ship near the southern shoreline. It is as tall as a 16 story building. Beautiful view from the eastern rim.
Another view from the east. The roadway approaches the rim at several points but you cannot continuously see the lake.
Nice couple of Gray Jays enjoying a fall day.

I can't believe the color of that water- so pretty! Glad you two were able to have a nice little vacation. It looks so beautiful and I'm glad the weather was nice.
