April

Future missionary photos. Jeff is home for a short visit before returning to Brigham Young University for spring term. Great to have him here even for a short time. He did not bring church shoes and unknown to me, Lori put him in my smallest pair of slipon black shoes. He wears one a half sizes larger than I do, so he was hurting.
Lois and Lori ready for Church. It was our stake conference with Elder Marvin Jensen
The future Holbrook parents, leaving with supplies for Johnny's young men.
This is Liz and her younger brother Nathaniel. She and her father we with us in Costa Rica. While we were eating lunch at the Marriott, Lori came back to our table crying. Earlier we had observed that Liz did not seem to be quite well, Lori had spoken with the father and he had told her that she had recently been diagnosed with a rapidly progressing form of blindness. They came to Costa Rica to see this land before she lost her sight.
Little reminders of her struggle were difficult to see.

Lori is holding a cashew. The fruit grows in the position shown with a stem at the top. The single cashew is at the bottom in an outer shell. The tissue under it is because it is extremely juicy and drips water out of the fruit at the top. So it is unusual in that most fruits have a seed buried inside the fruit, in this case the fruit sits above the seed. I'm surprised that cashews are not more expensive. They are also very nasty until cooked or roasted.
